Speaking of love.
Keynote speaker Alan Hartline
Alan Hartline is Executive Vice President of Merchandising and Marketing for Spartan Stores, which owns and operates 99 supermarkets and drugstores in Michigan and Ohio. The company also supplies more than 40,000 private label and national brand products to nearly 400 independent grocery stores.

But here at the Food Bank, we know Spartan best as the corporate "angels" who
gave us 1,075,010 pounds of surplus food last year - and who have continuously
supported the Food Bank through monetary donations and volunteerism.

Alan's knowledge of the food industry and market demands runs deep. He
joined Spartan Stores in 2003, continuing a stellar career that included
management posts at Damon Worldwide, an international private brands
broker, and A&P. He spent 15 years in with the Kroger Company in various
Operations and Merchandising positions, and holds an M.S. in Economics
and a Bachelor's degree in Finance from Walsh College.

Come hear Alan's expert perspective on food distribution in today's society
and how, together, our communities can reclaim surplus food to help end
hunger once and for all.
